It wasn't until on the way back that it proved to be a problem. There was a small mixup between groups where I turned out to be the odd person on the train. The man came around for tickets an I tried to tell him but he gave me a very stern look. He just wouldn't hear it!!I looked at Dr. Pflanze and she said, "Don't worry, we just might have to pay a fine. 100€?" Of course I didn't have the cash on me so I was worried.
The man later came back with the same stern look and finally said to me, "8€." I had to laugh because I had no idea what to expect so he just stood there and smiled while I grabbed the change out of my purse. After I had handed it to him I looked at him and said, "Je suis desolĂ©e (I'm sorry)," to which Dr. Pflanze smiled at me for using my French. I don't have pictures of the whole ordeal but I so have pictures of Saint Emilion which was absolutely gorgeous for having hardly any stores open!
