Today we all traveled to a wine tasting class across the bridge in Bordeaux. We all met in the downstairs of our hotel, like usual, for breakfast to then find out that we were going to a wine tasting class.
All of the students decided to take the tram across the bridge to the small town of Bordeaux. As my friends and I traveled down the lovely street of Saint Catherine, we stopped in some shops and for some food at Paul. I actually thought I got a delicious sandwich, but really it had foi gras.
As we approached the Maison du Vin, we looked at our surroundings to notice that we were in a very wealthy part of town. In front of the Grand Theater and also the famous hotel.
La Maison du Vin was a beautiful place with empty bottles of wine everywhere. We soon went upstairs to take the class. She explained many different things I didn't know about wine with taste and smell. She also made us smell many different scents to enhance our smells for the wine.
We actually tasted two different red and two different white wines which actually tasted very good. All of us had a great time learning about the different types of smells and tastes within the wine in order for us to get the full experience tomorrow at our real wine tasting!
