la louvre

Upon arriving in Paris I am sure there were countless different monuments and museums everyone couldn't wait to see. For me, it was the louvre! During the fall semester I had taken a World Art class and learned about many different paintings which were displayed in the louvre, so I was really excited to get to see them first hand. The night we arrived in Paris, it just so happened to be free admissions to the louvre with your passport (SCORE!) so my friends and I ventured into the snow storm to check out some great art. After a short metro ride across town we had arrived, and right on cue it began to snow for our entrance to the Louvre.
The entrance to the louvre was breathtaking it self, so I could only imagine what the inside was going to hold. It was amazing.

The high, detailed ceilings and the long spiral staircases themselves were beautiful!

The much anticipated Mona Lisa was sadly a disappointment to many apparently, but not me! I thought it was incredible to be able to actually see the real thing after learning so much about it since I can remember, regardless of its size!

I am really bad at figuring out how to place these pictures nicely, but above and below are just a few of the many different sculptures and painting I not only studied but had the amazing opportunity to see! Needless to say, I found the Louvre to be an amazing experience. OH. Just to give you an idea of how much is in there, we were there for about 2 hours and only saw ONE of the four wings filled with art, it would take multiple trips to be able to see the whole thing, which I hope to be able to one day do!
