We waited at our gate and eventually boarded the plane to Philadelphia. I sat by Ali who was a little nervous for the plane ride, but Eva calmed her down and explained to her that it was an unreasonable fear. I read a magazine and was surprised when the captain said that we were descending. The flight was short and smooth. We got to our next gate and got food while we waited for our plane ride to Paris.

We had a small bump in the road... Sarah was sick and contemplating to not come on the plane. We all felt bad as we prepared ourselves for the 8 hour journey ahead of us. We all got situated on the plane, including Sarah! The plane ride was off to a good start. I looked through the movie options and chose to watch Trouble With the Curve. I recommend watching it. We had dinner and I tried to sleep. I slept for about 45 minutes and then watched an episode of The Big Bang Theory and Sex and the City.
The plane ride finally came to an end and we got our luggage. We then walked to the train station. I noticed that french escalators are a lot different than the ones in America. I got a sandwich with ham and butter and it was "Bon."

Then, we got on the train to Nice. We had trouble fitting all of our luggage on the train and Dr. Pflanze explained that French people consider out luggage big or "important." I slept the whole way there, but luckily got to see some of the beautiful scenery outside the train window. We finally made it to Nice, and I was so excited to stand. We walked to our hostel and got to see the Main Street of Nice along the way. We settled into our rooms.. which did not have a mirror or bathroom... and got dinner downstairs. By the end of the night I was very tired, and ready for sleep. I am extremely excited about this trip and can not wait to explore all that Nice has to offer.
