A Classic Icon

Shot from across the river.

The freshly fallen snow covered the ground, leaving a crisp white layer around my frozen feet.  While the other half of our class was attending a French-speaking cooking class where they perfected their souffle-making with Chef Eric, Mollie and I had ventured off shopping to all sorts of little Parisian shops.  Later that evening, we thought it was time to use our newly acquired metro-riding skills to find our way to the Eiffel Tower.  Coming off of the metro, we both looked up, and sparkling in the distance was what we had been waiting to see since arriving in Paris.  It was so beautiful, especially with all of the snow surrounding the picturesque scene that is one of the most visited symbols of Paris, the Eiffel Tower.

The Eiffel Tower up close and personal.

Prior to arriving at our location, I took the time to research where the best location to see the Eiffel Tower was in order to ensure that I got the best views and pictures that I could.  It was a tough decision as to which view I enjoyed most.  As I approached the massive structure, it was almost too close for me to get the picture I'd wanted.  I continued across the Seine River and found the perfect spot for a picture.  The two pictures included here are my favorites views I think.  The Eiffel Tower ended up being even more breathtaking than I had imagined and helped make the trip to France well worth it.
